Now is the time to ask the annual question regarding our collecting goals! If you have not given a final report in the 2025 topic, feel free to do that first... http://goccf.com/t/474463Then come here and tell us what you plan for 2026!

Not much different from 2025... 1. Fill the last three core Dansco album holes 7000: 1916-D Mercury dime. 8100: 1909-S VDB and 1922 "Plain" (no D). 2. Buy whatever appeals to me from 2026 US Mint offerings— List TBD, and what a list it will be! 3. Add more Ike and WWII related coins from around the world. 4. Move my world coins from 2x2 holders (stored in 12 pocket Dansco pages) into various hole sized of standard Dansco pages. If I do it right I should be taking photos as well.

1. Begin liquidating the expensive variety coins that I do not intend to keep. 2. Acquire a proper camera setup to photo-document my collection. 3. Enjoy the 250th celebration coins.
I think my theme for 2026 will be continuing to add interesting varieties and errors to my collection, but in a way that increases the collection's quality while reducing its quantity.

2026 Goal: Acquire every rarity (around URS-5/Sheldon R-7) in my exceedingly specialized field that comes to market.

My goal for 2026 is to get almost all of the Large Cents for my Classic coin collection. It'll be a slow process, since I don't have a lot of money to work with. It'll be fun though.
Errers and Varietys.

1) Start selling off my duplicates that I've had sitting in my collection for years
2) complete my 20th century silver florin date run
3) obtain a 1951 UK penny

Quote: Acquire every rarity (around URS-5/Sheldon R-7) in my exceedingly specialized field that comes to market. I think my first goal should be to make sure I stay out of samoth's way Similar to previous years, but #1 is new: 1. Sell off a couple of small collections that we've lost interest in: my wife's Tudor/Stuart OFER collection, and parts of my Duchy of Lorraine collection. 2. Continue to grow collection and knowledge of saints on medieval coins; collaborate with spence on 3d article in series on this topic. There are a couple of specific coins on my watch list...otherwise I'm a bit opportunistic. 3. Continue to add early dated/datable coins in the 11th to 15th c. that mesh with other collecting themes. 4. Continue contributing at Numista.

- Add more numismatic reference and history books and guides. - looking through some nickel rolls to see if I can finally find the final coins I am missing from finding a full circulation set - this has been a years long journey. - any rolls this year I get track the results (I see others do this and it has interested me)

Only slightly different from my 2025 goals, i.e. work on the following collections:
1. Curacao & The Netherlands Antilles set 2. Provincial Coins of Utrecht 3a. Commemorative Coins of Composers - set of most well-known composers like Beethoven and Mozart 3b Symphony Set of Coins - focused on a few countries like Czechoslovakia and Italy 4. Birthyear Set Collection
I plan to sell my graded Estonian coins related to music. They don't appeal to me as much as they did before.

Roughly the same as previous year:
-Continue high-grade toned US classic commem set (Picked up a lovely Oregon at the end of 2025). -Pare-down lower value items (sold ~ two red flip boxes and related last year) -Modest exchange of bullion for numismatics (unsure if this is a wise financial move but it more about collecting than metals largely) -Continue with exploring high-grade/quality medals/SCDs that strike my fancy

for 2026, it's a repeat of 2025: squeeze more gold and/or silver from the streets. I'm playing it by ear. I have other thoughts, but those will just sit in my head and percolate for now. not very exciting, I know, but my mind is mostly just working on improving my income stream.
