I also picked up this coin for my type set this past weekend. it is also graded by ANACS ? Can you grade this series accurately?

Note the scratches on the obv are on the holder. (and the fingerprints) any forensic specialists?

It is so hard to be critical of such an even coin but the hair, and slightly worn leaves take it from its pedestal.

I vote right there at EF,. I am betting the lighting is makes the reverse leaves look more flattened than they actually are. Obverse look great but I just put it smack on at EF. even a tiny more and I would have to take it back a step to something like VF 35 with a note for details. It just feels criminal to kick it back to VF though.

We are talking ANACS, so I shall look forward to seeing how far off or on I am.

Nice coin, I would like to see a closer picture. But from what I can make out I would also say EF-40.

My first thought was VF-35; but it could easily be a 40 depending on the direction the wind is blowing.

RFB you are right on. The pic does flatten the leaves on the reverse quite a bit, masking a bit of detail. I thought this coin was PQ+ for the grade and just couldn't pass it up. As usual the pics do not give the coin justice. I paid $55 for this piece and thought it was a good deal. I am pleased with this coin. It is graded ANACS VF-35. It must of missed XF-40 by a hair. All you guys were pretty close.
Rest in Peace
