I think joefinds posted one and was told if it is one it's worth around $1,000.00. If any one knows of a web site that covers this topic please let me know. I've read about the 74 Aluminum Cent, 1943D Copper Cent, 1944 Steel Cent, 1944D Steel Cent and the 1959D Wheat cent. Just not a 1983 Copper Cent but probably is one, maybe. A stray (stuck) copper planchet in the hopper for the next year (although zincs were being punched out since mid 1982). I have also heard that the Mint used to (still?) makes coins for other countries, possibly a planchet from one of the them? If you feel strongly about it, have it authenticated by a TPG company. I am pretty sure they could give you some advice over the phone or an email to tell you what they could do for you. success, Report this Post to the Staff
