Cent Errors And Variety Searching - Coin Community Forum

Scooby Due Pillar of the Community United States 4000 Posts	Posted 07/25/2010 5:25 pm Personally, I scan my coins with a 10x loupe. That still allows me to see the entire coin and if anything there is worthy of a closer look, it will jump out at you. If I really need to get in there closer, then I pull out a 12X-15X loupe. If I can't tell something is worth a closer look under 10X, it probably isn't worth the time. Report this Post to the Staff
southerngent Valued Member United States 469 Posts	Posted 07/25/2010 5:29 pm I pretty much do all of my searching with a 16X but I can still see almost all of a cent so as long as I'm not looking at larger coins I'm good. Report this Post to the Staff
John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 07/25/2010 5:32 pm I started out with a 10x many,many years ago.Now my eyes are not as good as they once was so I use a 14x for error and variety searching. If I was not searching errors and varieties I would probably use a 10x. John1 Report this Post to the Staff
