I hope the pic shows the detail, you can easily see another D coming off the bottom right. I am going to play with it some and try to get a better picture. coppercoins Pillar of the Community United States 7629 Posts	Posted 01/31/2011 5:14 pm Looks like a gas bubble forming an area of split plating on the coin which resulted in the bulge. It's not a repunched mintmark. Report this Post to the Staff

Derlowemann New Member United States 24 Posts	Posted 02/01/2011 7:28 pm Yeah the picture does not show up well, but looking with a jewlers loop you can see the front half of a D } coming off the mint mark. I tried to scan a better pic but it will not let me upload the one with more detail. There is a gap between the two that barely shows up on this pic and the shadows hide the lines of the second D.
