I also love the 1954 $10 note, but more because of what Mount Burgess means to me, and the Burgess Shale.

Quote: honestly, I could have listed all of the 1954 bills as my favorites I agree. Nice to see the nice Nova Scotian representation here! NS medals are one of my biggest interests.

DBM => wow, thanks for those awesome links! (you have computer skills to burn)
SPP-Ottawa => yes, the Burgess Shale and its fossils (geologist's heaven, eh?) ... my Dad would take us hiking during our summer road trips through the rookies (Yoho, Banff and Jasper National Parks are probably my three favorite spots on earth!)
thanks again for the responses

My favorite Cdn Gov't banknote has to be the 1954 $5 Otter Falls. For chartered banknotes I like the Cdn Bank of Commerce $20 with Poseidon and the sea nymphs, and the Royal bank $20.

The sea nymphs note is rated "XX", and "will pay to the barer on demand" What kind of commerce was this bank engaged in?

The 1975 $50 with the musical ride on the back is cool. When I was a kid someone told me that it was a newfie firing squad on the back. I laugh every time I see one now.
