Do you know what the problem code was? From the pics, I see nothing wrong with it and IMO you got a good deal

PCGS is starting to bodybag anything that looks too nice. Really getting tired of them.
Anyway, he's a beauty and always been my favorite Commem. Congrats!

92. PCGS says it's been cleaned. This coin was sitting in the case right next to a slabbed MS64. The 64 was blast-white, and the price was $100+ more than the price of this one.

I, too, have always liked this commem. It might even be my favorite. The real stone mountain is pretty amazing too.

I was having this same type discussion with my dealer today when I bought this coin. He mentioned that he's heard rumors that PCGS is actually considering giving a grade along with the bodybag in the near future. Has anyone else heard any news of this?

I live about 12 miles from Stone Mountain Park.
There was quite a story of the original designer being let go after it taking too long. (The original designer eventually designed Mt Rushmore)

I think its like many natural wonders or landmarks, people that live close rarely go there.

Very nice coin!
It is stated on PCGS's site that they will begin to give a details grade for problem coins though it does not seem like it is the default option like they have at NGC.

Very lovely example scotty.

I admit that I cannot see from here the cleaning that PCGS claims ... looks to me like a fine Stone Mountain and a great piece of USA coinage history.

I see a few horizontal lines on both sides, but it looks like they are on the holder not the coin, seems like fine scratches you expect to see on plastic. Perhaps they believed it to be dipped at some point due to the color?

Great coin. I have been on the lookout for a nice affordable one for a while for my 7070.
