Is that just a trick of the camera, that phantom "S" just to the right of the lower part of the 9? That really stands out!

I didn't notice it until the picture but then I looked at the coin again and yes that phantom S is there.

The location would be wrong for the dark zone. It would look like this:

From the images provided I'm seeing a normal circulated coin. The green area ?

Yes coop, the green area has what appears to be an S mm. The anomaly north looks too small for a mm, but the one west looks pretty good.

Yes there is an S right next to that D plain as day a little light but not a shadow of an S but an actual S in the gunk. I am to scared to even try to attempt to remove that. The S protrudes from the green area wich makes me think that it is not part of that gunk.

The anomoly on the one I post has been delisted. Why? On ealier die states of this die, the area in question is not there. So it would not have been an over mint mark. If you look at the die flow you can see how the false mint mark is part of the die flow. So there is no Over mint mark for this date.

So that S right next to the D is nothing?

I don't see an S there at all. I think you've just got corrosion.
In 1980 San Francisco was only minting proofs. It seems extremely unlikely that the S puncheon would have gotten used on a business-strike die.

1980D-1OM-001 was delisted because an earlier die state coin showed that the curve on the coins is die damage - not a mintmark punch.
The coin shown in this thread is not from the same die.
Additionally, all I see is a normal, damaged coin. I would have to see more to make any sort of realistic determination as to what the coin is.

How could I set this up because it is very odd for there to be an S right nex t to that D making it looking like SD and not an S over the D.

I'm not sure what you mean by "set this up" so I don't understand the question. If you're in a way asking what I meant by "see more" - it means I would have to see the coin in person to tell you anything more about it. No amount of photography is going to help this one unless it's truly high quality and under a microscope.
