I personally think Penny that the 2012 is gonna be the coin to have say en years down the road, as the 1998 really has no significant date importants, other then the mint decided to capitalize on the success of the film from 1997....

The price an grades appear to be the same, so sounds like fair for both, but I would prefer the 2012....

These outhouse coins look suspiciously like made-to-order beer cans. You had to order 1000, but you could get them with air or beer.

For those saying that RCM isn't listing them, well, it wouldn't make much sense to grant an exclusive, then keep some of the coins.

The question becomes, once APMEX dumps these, who's supporting the aftermarket? They aren't likely to be in the catalog, so who's the buyer for more than bullion?

I received the 2012 Canada Maple Leaf Reverse Proof Titantic Privy (Mintage 25k) that I purchased last week. Can someone tell me how they made the front of the coin white? Mrs. Slick thinks that it is colorized like they do on ASE. All I am sure of is that the coin is beautiful.

Also what do they mean by the word Privy?

Thanks

http://www.onelook.com/?w=privy+mark&ls=a

A privy mark was originally a small mark or differentiation in the design of a coin for the purpose of identifying the mint, moneyer, or some other aspect of the coin's production or origin, for control purposes. Nowadays it is mainly used as a design and marketing feature.

I thought NGC would get P'ssed-Off about the 2012 SML Titanic deal between APMEX & PCGS.
APMEX was only seller of 2012 SML Titianic & they sent 2,088 coins to PCGS to grade at all SP69, No SP70!
Well now NGC has 19 - 2012 SML Titianic Graded at SP70... PayBack Time from NGC...
PCGS has never Graded 1998 & 2012 SML Titianic at SP70!

Good stuffy Penny and it just goes to show the guys with the double lens microscopes have the power to do what they want to do, which in fact puts them all in question in my eyes. The fact that people will fork out the difference of hundreds if not thousands, over some detail most could not even see with their naked eye never fails to amaze me.....

And if anything it may put NGC a notch behind PCGS as they have the reputation to only slap a 70 on a deserving item, where as NGC has graded a dozen of them 70. Regardless, I would like to have one of those dozen in my collection to forget about for a few years....

Just remember, to get a MS70, you had to buy from APMEX first, one way or the other.
