Just realized we have been talking about two different softwares. I have been looking at Coin Organizer deluxe by Prima Soft PC, Inc

They also have a free trial download looks good but now I have also downloaded the trial version of Coin Manager you are talking about will look at that now also. (I Should read things closer)

Question about Coin Manager..playing with it once you enter a coin into th software I can't see anyway to edit or change the value such as quantity of that coins or say price is there away to edit an existing coin that you have entered must be overlooking something?

I think I would still prefer my excel spreadsheet....it is set up the way I like it and backups are easy to do.

I only use my excel! I did try that other program I think it was called Numis something but it was not worth the time it took me to load 1/4 of my collection. I got 1/4 in and it told me I needed to update or upgrade not sure which one anymore as when I did the upgrade/date it was gone I have been looking for it but it was a lot easier to delete the whole program than it was to update/grade. you can add photos to it and I think that it runs around $150.00 or so a year I would put my money on the excel it updates itself as it is needed (if you set it up to) and it always saves itself. the other programs I have had no ZERO luck with at all in fact I put it in the trash last week.hope this helps

Sorry Bruce. I thought you were asking a generic question. I wasn't aware of software actually called coin organizer.

In Coin Manage, I just double click on the picture of one of my coins I have posted, whether it is my image or the default image, and it lets me edit.

Hope this helps,

One thing to remember using Excel is it is probably on millions and millions of computers all over the world. If you make your own Excel spread sheet for coins and then back it up on a 3-12" flopy disc, you can see it almost anywhere on Earth. You can do anything with it anywhere you go. Of course in China Excel is in Chinese. With any other program you have to take the program with you.

I believe that setting up your own spreadsheet provides
you the most flexibility and safety net....for your hard
efforts. Once the data is entered you have the option to
update, backup, restore, protect and modify the spreadsheet
at your own level of use. I found so far that coin collecting
software is to rigid and non-compatible with even data files.

hello everyone. I was wanting to know if someone would email me the spread sheet they came up with on there coins in excel. Instead of me reinventing the wheel I would like to copy someones and mod it to the way I would like it. I am just collecting U.S. coins for now, but have a couple of cigar boxes of world coins that I will go through once I get my other coins organized

Email me and I can send you a great Excel spreadsheet. Has tabs for mintage quantities, silver value, inventory, etc. I think I found it through a link from this forum, but I can't remember. It's a really nice
spreadsheet. Hope this helps.

I have been using Coin Manage for 3 years now and love the program.

But to each his own preference, do whatever suits you best.
