Other than a small spot it's a real nice coin VF.30. It's harder to find that type of coin without errors than it is to find one with errors.

Super hard coin to find - that's for sure. I'd go VF details net price around VG10/F12, due to damage on obverse (scrapes on face) and surface damage or corossion. Even though it's a tough date not worth paying much over $130.00

I made a bid for $100. The other 6 coins might have a value of about $20, so I hope I'll win.

Thanking about what Verdicare would do to help the coin....worth a try? Will of course practice on junk before I use Verdicare on this particular coin

Just got an email back. I won the auction.
I thought it was a blind auction that my highest bid was what I was going to pay for it. But no, the amount I have to pay was about $1 higher than the second higest bidder.

So, the winning big is....$55!

I'm pleased;) I love getting a rare coin for a bargain.

Thanks. It's a great feeling getting a great coin for a fraction of what it's worth

You scored big time on this one. Nicely done!
I'm also in the mid VF range.

You, Sir, are a winnar. Here, have some fruit:

And don't mess with the coin. The level of wear would indicate whatever you do will be obvious, even if you're successful. On the other hand, as-is you could double your money on it immediately.

Where does one find these governmental auctions?

Also, wouldnt that stuff for removing verdigris be acceptable for use here (edit: I'm not talking about removing the spot, just the green stuff)?
