If it's a flat bed scanner, then yes. Set it at the highest DPI it supports.

High grade coin with a great strike.
The obverse looks MS, I can't see the reverse good enough but AU at worse.
I'll go out on a limb and say--- One vote for original

The true color is hard to determine, but it looks like it has been cleaned to me at some point, whether recently or decades ago. The pics aren't bad, but it's hard to tell if it has been cleaned. I would say AU55 details.

Of course you know there is a large letters and a small letter variety. Also, an 8/7 type. From your photos it appears yours is a large letter one. But can not tell if an 8/7. From the looks, it appears to be about an AU-50+. Now as to sending it in for grading and if it comes back cleaned, you would only be out the fee for that service. For a coin like that, yes would be worth that.

I would also say not quite 58. AU55 sounds right.

I like that second set of pictures. I'm not sure about being cleaned but I'll leave that to the copper experts here. Please let us know the grading results.
