Pretty interesting! Just for argument sake, would a TPG recognize this as something such as that?

Thanks AC. Is there any interest in these? I bought this at a show and
Hadn't seen it until now. I have no desire to put
It in my collection. Do you think there's a premium on something like this?

ANACS would probably slab it...but the fee would most likely be more than the value of the coin.

Its amazing how a simple thing as a thread of string could actually imprint on the penny, or any other coin. Those that have cloth strike through are awsome!

Struck throughs are interesting, whether it is wire, thread, lint or any other type of foreign material. Like someone mentioned earlier, the TPG will attribute the error for a fee. You have to decide if the fee is cost effective for the price.

Here is a 1966 SMS Kennedy. I picked it up for my son not only for the struck throughs on the obverse but it is also the DDO-007 or FS-105

NOTE: The marks on the obverse are imbedded in the coin.

Odd that nobody here has picked out that this 1955 proof cent is a doubled die reverse.

Additionally there was a mention of a 1955-S roll price..which is completely unrelated to this thread. This is a 1955 "plain" proof cent...not an uncirculated cent.
