I like the novel storage solution! I use Eagle proof set albums myself, but neither my albums nor your tool box are going to stop thieves, but that wasn't the topic.
Step 1 is to create a storage system that works for you. Step 2 is to create a security plan around that storage system. Feral Geese may be a good option.

the best security of all is to not tell anyone you have a collection but have security dogs anyway to stop scumbags even entering the front gate, works for me....dog food is cheaper than insurance companies crap policies

Blue Healers are good. I'm fond of Norwegian Elkhounds. Nasty temperament if you cross them!

a mate once had a rotty and a doberman looking after his "toys". I think they played "bad cop, worse cop" with visitors

Quote: At the end of it all I bought a Wormald fire-proof safe SPG1, can I ask where you bought it? I would like to buy a large safe but haven't found anywhere that sells them.

Hi Mobofroos I bought it at a "homemaker" show a few years back in Melbourne. Wormald had a stand so I looked at their safes. They had quite a few there but I chose one that was a good size and heavy so I didn't have to worry about securing it. It also depends on how much you want to spend and where you intend to put it ie bolt it to the floor etc.
You could start with the Wormald website, then move to other makers. Most do delivery too.
Cheers Simon

You could try bunnings roo..I got a small one from there but it's not fire proof so I put everything in glass jars so if I ever have to crack it open I don't burn what's in side..I think I'd still do it even if I had a fire proof one. You could always move to the country but it's getting as bad as the city pitty help the poor fool that wants in here 'cause they'll have a on their hands and for what as my collection isn't worth anything except to me..one good thing about livin in the bush and that's that there's a lot of land

Hey Trout, Wouldn't the weight be a problem for the cabinet drawers? My filing cabinet struggles with all my doco let alone coins and such. O/T Where I grew up we used to bait dogs with 1080 etc. Problem was it got gonna's and such as well as the dogs. I found the only 100% certain way to only get the dogs was a .243 or .303 I've spent many a night hunting dogs to protect the sheep P.S. Ditto on what AusJack said.

Thanks for your advice guys I already have a safe I bought from Bunnings that I put my cones coins in. It is a solid safe but I'm sure a hand trolley would remove it without too much problem. I've checked the Wormald website but I can't seem to find anyone who sells large safes retail. I am happy to spend a few thousand dollars as I see this as a good investment.
