Possibly the fastest and cheapest method would be the roll searching thing. Hopefully anyway.

Update for you guys - After the relatively low success rate of the assorted rolls from last night, I went in to US Bank again today fully expecting to buy ~50 rolls. I told the teller my story and asked to buy some of the assorted rolls. She pulled the box of rolls out from under the counter and opened it, and it was completely full of rolls of shiny 2012 pennies. It must be my lucky day! She even high fived me.

Great Find, ellingjt! It seems to me that when it comes to 2012 cents (pennies) they are in extremely abundant supply. Glad you found what you needed!

Isn't anybody else curious as to why the wedding favor was for 2012 cents? What for, exactly?

Cant you still buy rolls of 2012 cents from the U.S. Mint?

Quote: Cant you still buy rolls of 2012 cents from the U.S. Mint? No, they haven't done that since 2010 and they only did it for the new design and for 2009. Congrats on finding that many rolls of new cents! They sure are pretty when new. What are you doing with the extra rolls? I do look for some to put away each year. Please look at my trade list in the link in my signature. Thanks!

If that's true, great idea, especially for a groom that's a numismatist! I just got a box of cents from my bank and I'm starting to find 2012s in there. D's, no P's yet. Always have a difficult time with Philly mint in Texas.

All I come across are P mints luckily another member was kind enough to hook me up with a couple nice D mints for my Dansco. If I put together or find some rolls of P mints I would be more than happy to trade for a roll of D mints if anyone is interested just shoot me an email.

I've seen may a dozen or so 2011's and a couple dozen 2010. And exactly three 2009's one LP1 and two LP2.
