I'd go for a PCGS or NGC 1917 Standing Liberty quarter Type 1 FH. Mmmmm

dma . . I would think the best grade Flowing Hair you would find for $500 would be P-01 but would still be a joy in hand.

When I think about classic, I think about a "Draped Bust Half Cent". This $500.00 should get me an 1800 Draped bust Half Cent in condition of AU-50 on the right day. Just sayin.

I think I'd try to find an MS Standing Liberty quarter. They're one of my favorite designs, but are just a bit too spendy to be buying on a regular basis.

I would gladly spend $500 on an honest surfaces VF/XF 1935 Hudson Sesquicentennial Half Dollar ... note that IMHO this is a member of the 'classic' series.
