nice quarter Xavier - first year issue to boot!
i do love bust coinage from early 19th century
I'm in at VG details from NGC, apologies for the pessimistic outlook but even slabbed in a problem holder you've got a $150 coin in today's market

I also think it has F12 detail but the horizontal scratches on the wings are pretty distracting. The scuff on E PLURIBUS will seal the deal for a Details grade, I expect.
If you are willing to disclose I am curious as to what you paid. These coins are not easy to find in any grade. Despite the problems, this one has a lot of appeal.

I got this and four bust halves as part of a wholesale lot I purchased off a dealer I frequently do business with. Unfortunately I mixed up my notes between the bust coinage and some high grade Buffalo nickels I purchased in the same lot. But I paid somewhere between $50 and $70 for it.

They also apparently certified it as the B-1 Variety. Would that add any noticable premium to it?

FYI, B-1 is the only variety for that year. These are very tough to find problem free. I've only seen a couple over the past 10 years that are problem free. I bought them both.

Does B-1 Add any signifigant premium? I can't see any for sale on ebay, which is a good thing :)

A 1815 B-1 NGC Fine Details graffiti sold for $470 in January on Heritage. I guess I found my answer there!

All 1815 CBQ are B-1. It is the only known die marriage.

Quote:So the variety is in essence meaningless because all 1815 Capped Bust quarters are B1? Essentially, but all the same the date still needs to fit into the designation scheme for varieties. You never know when/if B-2 will come along.
