I think F12 but seeing as it's a key date, PCGS may have pushed it up a tad bit to F15. I can't see enough LIBERTY showing to make VF.

First impression is a F12. Nice problem free coin IMO.

If F15, roughly $1300.

Looks F-15 to me, just a tad weak on the Liberty for VF. Beautiful coin,...I have never owned one. someday....

How can PCGS grade it at F12 with liberty worn?

No Dave, I'm thinking about making the seller an offer and appreciate the CCF input!

Quote: How can PCGS grade it at F12 with liberty worn? "buy the coin, not the slab" - unless your doing a set registry and are trying to stay in a consistent grade tier, than buy the slab...

Quote: How can PCGS grade it at F12 with liberty worn? A full LIBERTY is not required at F12. Only that each letter is visible. It appears the obverse strike is a touch light though.

You can see just the tops of LIBERTY and you have a F12.

That was the way I was thinking too, The photos could be better, but it's a solid F12 for sure. I'd hold off unless the offer was pretty low end for the grade, there are bound to be better looking top of the TPG grade assigned on the slab ones around. I decided to do a quick look to some of the goto dealers, Jack Beymer has several available now in his current inventory price sheet graded PCGS F15 he calls F12's he is asking around $1500 and up on them. Teletrade has sold a couple in the past 6 months both F12 I didn't care for either I looked, sold at more what I would expect to get the one above for (in the $950-1050 range). That isn't out of line for a store price, I'd say grab it at $800-880 maybe up to $950 just my Two Cents
