I'd put it at a 63, a few too many marks for a 64 IMHO. Great looking Morgan whatever the grade!

For that kind of money it must have been a scarce variety VAM ....fair market on an 1879-P is around 700-800

It's way over graded at MS65 IMO, but as said must be a tough VAM to bring that kind of money! MS64 maybe, however bought it should never crack it out of that holder!

MS63 IMO.
Even if it was graded MS65, I can't see any reason to pay this kind of money.

I would say ms64 and no higher, even if it were just the obverse that had bag marks still wouldn't go over 64 but both have marks
