I'm in at MS63BN as well, could well be a touch higher, I really like the wood grain look it has.

As usual, you guys were all over this one for the grade. This one has a twist as well...Medallic Alignment to go along with my 3CS. (NGC Image)

Quote: This one has a twist as well...Medallic Alignment to go along with my 3CS. But not on the holder? Seems that, at least on ebay, that brings double the money, though I won't pay it for a common error on this series, also RPDs on 1864LMs are almost as common as non RPDs yet so many think they are worth a small fortune. Nice little 2 cent piece!

I am going to cross-over to PCGS when my membership dues are due next month and I am debating on whether to fork out 24 for attribution on the medallic alignment, although it should be a "no-brainer"...I am going to ask about PCGS that.

I received the following message from PCGS about adding Medallic Alignment to their holder;
"These particular coins will fall under the mint error crossover service. If PCGS can meet or exceed the current grade along with the error then we will put the coin in our PCGS holder. The mint error service is $55 per coin plus shipping and handling. If the coins do get crossover then there will be a 1% additional fees of the market value of the coins."
Sounds like I am going to "pass" on their service. Greedy, greedy, greedy.

No wonder people on ebay think the die rotations are worth so much in a TPG holder. To me it doesn't add much to the coin, but I always see them listing at almost double for the given grade designation in price.

"Medallic Alignment" coins are interesting, but I think that I will tell the tale versus padding PCGS pockets on a couple characters on their label. Second guessing myself on which 2 Cent Piece to keep (another thread/poll).
