I collect mostly from Canada and France, but also Poland, Russia, Belarus, and Australia. I like all the information on Russian life and culture you get from their beautiful coins. I like when they show their museums, their ballets, and their wildlife.

One of my very favorite coins is from Poland: I think BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) with their large middle classes now emerging will be the places to be vis a vis world coins; and Poland seems quite popular right now as well.

chasinva69, did you see this 2006 proof coin, with the reverse featuring a reproduction of the reverse of the 10 z coin from 1932? Image: BeautifulCoinsPoland2006.jpg90.98 KB

I have several Russian coins. Here are the two nicest, both of which I purchased on Teletrade: This is an 1839 half-rouble or poltina. NGC graded it MS63. It has nice original surfaces with iridescent tone (I couldn't capture the color accurately in my photos). The strike is a bit soft on the upper right reverse. This is an 1841 5-rouble gold coin, graded MS-64 by NGC. It has bright gold luster with a couple of obvious copper spots. The Russian coin I really want is a platinum 3-rouble coin. I've bid on several in various auctions but have always missed the prize. Prices just keep going up on these.

Those are nice Jaobler. Unfortunately I don't have any Russian gold coins other than the Chervonets. Here are some of the neater ones that I have: Reeded edge - not very common Proof commemorative ruble Nice silver coin - it weights nearly like a heavy ounce! Nice copper
