U.S. Goverment agencies don't care. ebay loves the fees..period. My main search criteria on ebay other than Colonials. I own 5 1877's. When you understand the diagnostics, fakes are easy to spot.

I sent a PM earlier this morning and they took the listing down. Judging by the other things this seller was selling, I'm not sure they knew what they were doing. It is suspicious that they have a rating of (1) though.

BTW, I reported it to ebay and 47 minutes later received an email that they had confirmed the problem and taken it down...

How are you going to tell me my coin is fake? I've had it appraised so mind your business.

Just report it and be done. He loses in the end and will just have to deal with it.
Who appraised it, Ronald McDonald?

That would be a good idea. He desperately needs an education.

All of the people telling him that it was fake and that they would report it to ebay must have scared him. ebay didn't pull the listing, he ended it. If you click on the listing in the first post, you can still see the listing and the message "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." I guess he thought that the Indian Head cent was still a large cent. A very large cent at 3". Ben

In his mind, it's real. He got nervous and ended it because of pressure; mainly from us :-)
