I bought this coin at auction (the photos above are from the auction), and really liked it as EF45. In hand, it is much much better than I expected. There really are no blemishes to this coin, and even the tiny die crack that runs through the date, up to the boulder, around the boulder, towards the rim, and through all the stars to the left of Liberty, is sharp and clear, no wear on it at all, and it's a really tiny crack. The reverse also gives it a real shot at AU50 in my opinion. The eagles feathers are unworn, so to the arrow feathers. It was slabbed by NGC. Needless to say, I won't be resubmitting it, but I was curious as to the opinions of our experts here. I have seen coins that look much worse than this with the same grade on the slab. CAC didn't even give this one a sticker (which to me was a positive)

Missed this on myself, I think the grade is pretty spot on. The coolest thing is the provenance to Col. Green!! Very cool.

I would say XF45 all day long and maybe AU50. XF 40 is too low IMHO.

I agree with XF40. It is a nice coin and in a pedigreed holder. CAC probably didn't sticker it because of the heavy patina. No matter though, it's a solid 40 in today's market and an attractive coin.

CAC sticker is good but not always necessary as some have shown CAC to sometimes be not very consistent

Congrats on the nice pedigreed coin! XF-40 looks about right.
