Thank you are for your interesting replies.

I had pretty much decided to take the gold, but heard that
my dad liked the gold coin, so I let him have that one.

I was offered another choice. I was tired of figuring out
what might me the best option ... so I went with the
new choice and I am happy with it ...

The new choice was picked 15 coins from this group.

Which-Would-You-Choose-Gold,-Silver-Or-Cash

Many of the coins were not in great shape .. circulated, dipped or cleaned.

But here is what I picked

What a nice son, dad got the gold and you got some nice looking silver dollars, sounds like a win-win.

Ok, Morgans.... You should have looked over the VAM list to see if there were any heavy hitters in the group.
I like Morgans, alot. But the original silver lot wasn't to my liking. The last pic of Morgans, with alot of mint luster was far better.
Nothing like CC Morgan dollars, and Morgan dollars with VAM's. Very popular.

Ya gotta love Morgan and Peace dollars, they weren't in the original equation. good for you letting the gold go to your father.

Very nice selection GR58. I would have probably leaned towards the gold in the original set of options but the 15 silver dollars would have sucked me in too.

IMHO, it is always nice to own few gold coins and gold rings; although, my long-term focus is silver. Silver is undervalued and has a higher profit margin in comparison to the number of ounces you can own for silver vs one ounce of gold.

And on majority of any given day, the ounces in silver you own will out perform the one ounce of gold because you have a 80x multiplier in silver ounces compared to one ounce of gold.

Sorry for the run-on sentences.
