I'd absolutely take the gold... I'm a Morgan guy in heart, but for the condition they're in I'd take the gold. Aside of the ASE's it looks like scrap silver to me... We're they all MS then maybe the silver, but as they appear definitely the quarter eagle!

You already have a lot of silver, the gold coin would take less space and has numismatic valve over bullion.

I like the silver.

I have no gold coins. If I buy one now, I will feel compelled to add a 7070 gold page and get the rest.

The more I read the responses the more I am leaning to the
$5.00 gold. At least I have a few days to decide.

My collecting goals are in sort of a dead zone right now,
meaning I am not sure what to collect or upgrade.

If I pick the $5.00 gold, it would be my 15th gold coin.
(10 are in my 7070 type set)

I don't mind stacking more silver, but as muddler said I
have quite a bit. Not as much as some members here, but hundreds of dollar size coins... ASE/Morgan/Peace and 1oz silver coins.

This is just a different type situation, a family deal.
I can just pick one of these no cash out of my pocket.

I am thinking the gold now .. either just to have another one. Or if I was sure I could get more than the $300 for it
then to sell and put the money in my coin fund.

With the Silver you could melt it all down and make Silver Bullets. With those you could:
1. Get a job as the Lone Ranger on TV
2. Get a job in Transalvania hunting Warewolves.
3. Sell to people that think any of the above is real.

However, since it is easier to sell Silver coins, I'd take the Silver.

I'll take the gold. Old gold is just cool. And if I needed the money I think I could get $400 right now just throwing it on ebay auction style.
