Piece of an old white t-shirt. Maybe too thick for this application but I was using an 8 inch aluminum Home Depot clamp on light fixture with a 100 watt 6500K daylight mini CFL bulb. What is everyone using for diffuser material? I tried using Ray's suggestion for diffusing the jansjo's but found that I still get distracting hot spots on the coins surface. I may have to build some type of light diffusion system. And I thought underwater photography was hard :)

I think it looks a LOT better. What did you change?

Jeff changed the whole lighting setup (see several posts up). Canadian Banknotes I would be happy with that level of product. Very tough to get nice even lighting while retaining enough luster to make the coin "pop".

Give me 20 minutes, and I will post a picture of the diffusion set-up I have for my Jansjos.

CBN thanks for sharing. I'll give this a try this weekend. Also have some other ideas I want to try. Bob

Not bad...pretty natural looking. Indirect sunshine/daylight?

I used the 2 Jansjo's using Canadian Banknotes diffuser pics with tissue paper and added overhead lighting from 2 feet away with a Home Depot 8 inch aluminum fixture with 100 watt 6500K daylight bulb (1450 lumens)also diffused with tissue paper. Seems like more lights from different angles works better. I'm in the process of experimentation before I build my "Frankenlighter".
