VF details-improperly cleaned

Please describe why you think it's been improperly cleaned.
For the moment I disagree.

ANACS gave it EF45! Everyone is guessing what I thought after seeing the coin in person. Crud cleaned out of devices, lots of wear, LI in LIBERTY hardly visible, gouges in the date, I could go on ...

Haha rob, when I looked at it without check I check I comments my first thought was EF-40, then after looking at what others said, I was wondering how I was so off. Guess I wasn't

I would expect Liberty to be crisp for 45, I had a hard time seeing 30.
But all the better for you!

Typical TPG grade when it comes to Large Cents. Actually, this is very high even by TPG standards so I am surprised.

VF25 (me) I also agree with 1893S, cleaned at some point/retoned. You can see the reddish hues in spots not indicative of this level of preservation.

EAC F15 I would guess.

No offense intended to you robbudo but this is a good example of buy the coin, not the slab.

no offense taken. I took a risk and will be taking advantage of the seller's return policy.

I guess I was too late but I had this one at VF25/30 I could even see an VF35 but 45? I think ANACS was a bit too generous on this one. Is this in the new yellow holder or the older blue ones?
