The guy I bought it from said someone had consigned them to him. He had a decent set of less common Morgans. I'll try to post some of the others I bought from him. The others were an 1887-S in AU, an 1892 in XF, and a 1900-S in XF/AU. I paid $325 for all 4. There were some others that I was interested in, but hadn't planned on dropping that much cash that day.

I think the odd look of the 3 is a bit of PMD. I'll try to get my wife to take a pic and send it to me so I can post it. I looked at the date closely before I bought it and didn't notice anything other than the PMD just like on the star just to the right.

Here is the best close-up pic she sent me.

1893-Morgan-Dollar

Not the greatest pic, but it was taken on an iphone through a loupe by someone that doesn't know/care much about coins.

Let me know if anything looks odd still, besides the PMD.

The enlarged photo makes me more confident the coin is OK. Good price for the 4 coins.

Looks like a slider, I'd say AU-58. $325 for all 4 is an excellent price.

Looks like this coin could have a clashed letter G, can you take a look at her neck. If you don't know what a clashed die is go research it at
WWW.vamworld.com.
Maybe worth your while cause this could increase the coins value a lot!

I concur, but odd damage, particularly to the star. Combined with the other obvious nicks, I'd say AU53 would be absolutely tops on how it'd grade, and AU50 or AU "details" wouldn't surprise me at all.

There aren't any clashed letters. I always check for any of the major VAMs and clashes whenever I buy a coin just to see if I might have anything extra special. Thank you everyone for your opinions. I had this at an AU-55 min. when I bought it.

I'm going to have look more closely at the other coins this guy had this weekend. I just ran out of time and money while looking at them last weekend. Tomorrow I'll try to post the other 3 coins I bought from him.

I'm thinking a solid AU-55. Surfaces look original to me. Nice buy!

Well done. The other coins were nearly free at the price.
