Quote: See how fast the Seller "magically" comes up with another one of these in a few weeks! He listed one a couple weeks later that ended on the 24th at nearly $3500 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...141376466858I can't believe the buyers left positive feedback. Although I don't see where it says circulated, so let's at least hope for his sake they were all MS-64's Quote: "As described, fast shipping, thank you! A+...12 P, 6 S, 1 O, 1 CC, No keys/ouch"

The Seller for these things lists the item location in Utah. Utah is a scammers paradise in the United States. Just do an internet search and the enlightenment will follow. I think ebay has a big employment presence in Utah, too. "Birds of a feather......."

Hey, I live in Utah! Don't be so quick to generalize without facts, man. Search for any state's name with the word scam or criminal and you'll find plenty of hits, too.
LOTS of business have a big presence here because we have a young and well-educated work force.

Tkbslc....
Utah IS a scammers paradise. I lived there, I seen it with my own eyes.
Why do you think Mark Hoffman is rotting away at the Point of the Mountain? Scammed many people and institutions with his forgery abilities. He also carried it to the next level and killed a few when his scamming was uncovered.
Multilevel marketing paradise? Yep, Utah!
Blind investment trusts with ZERO accountability? Yep, Utah! ("Just give me your money, I promise you a high return, we go to the same church, you can trust me!")
The auctions of "original" Bullion & Exchange Bank crimped dollar rolls in this thread? Yep, Utah!
And BOTH of your last Utah Attorney Generals are under indictment for scamming the scammers themselves!
The list can go on and on!
(But then again, you got some nice National Parks so I guess that makes up for it!)

{quote]Think about it. Would anyone in their right mind sell an original bank wrapped roll of dollars that are 120 years old from a bank in Carson City through an online venue that is known to be a haven for scammers?[/quote] Considering the odds of there being something really special in a random original bank wrapped roll of dollars and the fact that some foolish person out there is willing to pay $5700 for that roll, I would.

Like I said, look for stories in ANY state and you'll find enough to make yourself sick. We didn't even make this top 10 list: http://247wallst.com/special-report...omplaints/2/If you think MLM and Affinity fraud only happens here, you haven't been anywhere else. You list three examples of people who didn't get away with it here in Utah. How is that paradise? Of course the list can go on. People live here and probably 10% of people are total low-lifes.

Polygamy is illegal in all 50 states, so no, you can't have 18 wives or even 2. And even if it was legal, I don't think you'd find many willing women.
Not sure how this turned into "We hate Utah" chat. Every index I can find, Utah is average for non-violent crime and in the top 5 for lowest violent crime in the Nation.

TKBSLC.... I NEVER said anything about "we hate Utah"! All I said was it does not surprise me that the "Bullion & Exchange Bank" machine crimped, unsearched, silver dollar rolls on ebay referenced in this thread are being marketed out of Utah. I lived in Utah and I know a lot of coin people in Utah. Some of them l'd trust with everything I own. Some of them are scammers. It is part of the business everywhere but I saw more of it in Utah than anywhere else. The only bad check I ever got was .... where else...you guessed it....Utah. It took almost six months for the writer to make good on it. I'd venture to guess that the marketer of these Bullion & Exchange Bank "unsearched" rolls is well known in the Utah coin collecting community and has walked through many shows at the Miller Center in Sandy. If I offended you I apologize. I actually love the State of Utah. But when it comes to scammers, I just call it like I see it.

I'm not offended. I just don't like anecdotes, generalizations and conjecture being passed along as facts. I'd have thought the same if you mentioned another state.

If the city you live in is featured in an episode of COPS or if your city is mentioned in a rap song "You might live in the hood" Patterson NJ with the D bag cop who keeps saying "I'm not your Papi" always rubs me the wrong way every time the multiple episodes air. Google it.
