Very nice first Morgan. I think it could reach MS63.

Now let's see your second Morgan.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm still working on flattering lighting for my coin pics, so this looks better in hand. It's extremely "frosty". I have everything from AU-58 to MS-64 up there, so maybe I need better photos.

As long as it is at least MS-60, I didn't pay too much for it.

Yea I'm also torn between AU58 and MS62. There could be a touch of rub on the eagle's right wing tip. Nice luster though. Great first Morgan!

MS-62/63. This is one of those how-the-grader-is-feeling-that-day coins.

Unfortunately, I see wear on the wing tip on the left, so I'd call it AU58.

In any case, this is a lovely Morgan and I'd be proud to have it .

I'd say that is an excellent first Morgan, sir. They are addicting. I'm thinking it would grade a 62. Keep 'em coming!

I don't think the wing tip is wear when the D and S show no signs of wear. I think its just a New Orleans weak strike with not enough metal flow.

I don't think there is any wear there. Here's another angle:

AU-58+ Full detail with the barest trace of friction on the highest points. Superior eye appeal.

There is no way this wouldn't be graded as MS. Luster is not broken.
