At first glance, I noticed the rims...then I saw the date.
The digits are just not shaped right, especially inside the 8's.
The distance of 85 is wrong too--it just can't be real. That sucks.

It took me a second glance to see it was fake. Why would someone counterfeit this date? It looks to good to be a fake cent intended to circulate around the time of the FEC.

To fool collectors who aren't too familiar with the series. If made somewhere with lower tooling/labor costs, it could be profitable...

If only I (Corndog) paid 30 bucks. I was so focused on the wreath discrepancy that I hadn't even considered the date so be wrong.

I paid 130 for it. Sent an email to the dealer and he was good enough to refund me. A really good lesson learned. If your loop breaks on the way into the show BUY A NEW ONE!

Glad to hear the dealer took it back--really they should know better; hopes it's not just resold again.

Glad you got a refund, this one looks like one from China.
