Nice, nice coin. Let us know how the grade comes out. I think that is the one I lost back in 1915 or was it 1916?

I have no idea what it will grade. I'm headed home this weekend and I'll post some pics of the 1787 when I get there.

The 15-D will BB either for envionmental damage or cleaning It is a nice coin but the picture shows major hairline scratches running from 10:00 to 4:00.

Just took these pics of the Jersey copper. Just to repeat, this coin was not dug; I found it in the corner masonry of a colonial era house that was being demolished in Salem NJ. I thought it was a washer when I first saw it, I picked it up and wiped it off and then rinsed with water. It looks like the Maris 48-g variety. Anyway, here are the pics: Image: IMG_1388_300.jpg90.9 KB Image: IMG_1389.jpg90.94 KB

Still looks like it has some environmental problems that would probably get it bagged at PCGS or NGC, but to a colonial specialist that would be one nice NJ. The colonial specialists don't really give a dang about what the TPGs think, and most of them would rather they not be slabbed anyway.

with Conder101, he is right on the money. If you decide to sell it here, I would bid on it.

It was said, " Some people have found silver coins in the ground that weren't damaged, so it's possible." True, that...I (metal) detected Mercury dimes near an old fancy beach house on Nantucket Island about six years ago. There were almost a roll's worth of dimes and they were in G-F condition. Amazing, really.

Update: the 1787 New Jersey Penny is coming back from PCGS graded as..... DRUMROLL PLEASE>>>>> NOT GENUINE. The 1915-d Barber quarter is still going through the process and so is the 1997 Proof silver eagle.

UPDATE: PCGS - submittals - 1915-D Barber quarter comes back as NOT cleaned but has a scratch and they will not grade it, at least it came back as not cleaned. The 1997-P proof eagle comes back as PR69DCAM - finally some good news. I just sent in a two coin 1995 Civil War Commemorative set for PCGS grading.
