Apparently BOC has released a bunch of the MC $5 in January they're all over ebay, not too happy now about my MC purchase last week  Still looking for a Journey HAE Edited by lucv13

Yes many bundles released in Vancouver and Edmonton from what I've been reading on other forums

seems like they decided they should not release the wrong signatures and then later decided since theyre printed anyways, why not?
i just wonder if they will all fall within that 300000 range, or more like the 3.6 million boc says they printed.
i really should have sold mine, but when I found it, for all I knew, the price would go up.

yup. in case anyone needs help finding it, page 5 seems to be where it starts looking like all 3.8 million were released. not sure if the originally found ones will retain value though. I had no problem in getting them in Vancouver banks.
The ones I got were all in the 300,000 serial range.
All you need to do and go ask for new bills for Chinese New Year. Be sure to say NEW bills. If you just say you want $500 in $5 bills you may get circulated bills.
I suggest people go to banks in Chinatown, Richmond, and Burnaby's Metrotown.

I got pretty excited today, as I got 6 in un-circulated condition 700k+ serial number. Then realized the price has taken a major tumble in the last 3 weeks. They came from the machine at the machine where you cash your tickets at the casino, I got 2 and kept going back with new tickets that would yield me $5 bills. Oh well, good to check them off the list.

have we ever found out what the original serials were and if those original ones retained value or not? I'mfinding them often now, but cant bear to spend them without knowing the answers to these questions.

I found this HBG prefix and it was not a Macklem/Carney signature.  |

Yes, it appears that both the Frontier Macklem/Carney and the Macklem/Poloz HBG are easily acquired now - However the quest to find a Macklem/Carney Journey series HAE note is still a challenge
