You have not said anything about Coin B, which was also in another thread... why does it look so odd?

SPP, I have no idea.
when I purchased coin B it lookedexactly like this.
weight is correct, dimensions are correct. it looks in all ways like the others I have.
Perhaps u think it is odd because of a dark spot on the nose. sort of changes the appearance I guess.
here is a image with adjusted contrast. maybe it looks better?
Just a dumb guess: is it possible that it is / was a SP?
try and think the carbon marks away. and then take another look at this pix

If it was a specimen proof, I don't think it would have a die crack.

Perhaps others have one to compare with. All the ones I have (6) are like coin B.

This is one that I have to help compare with..

Regarding the crown jewel on the reverse-----I have looked at about 400-500 coins and about 2% have complete details of the top jewel. They have no effect on grading decisions ---just like the known characteristic of weakly struck N and 5,last 8.
Another common features of the coin is sever doubling of the obverse D and E of DEI ---the letters are severely "twisted" ---This happens on about 7% of the coins.
This coin could be a great book study--- 50 dies for the obverse---66 for the reverse.
Another feature of the coin has a die pit dot roughly 50% between the A of REGINA and the separator DOT. EVERY coin has it, to much varying degrees---check your coin !
All in all a very interesting coin

Grading by Charlton for this Vicky is ------MS60 (UGLY) no wear---Your A coin is a beauty, therefore MS63. Initial grade MS65 less a couple of points for I know not what.

Thank you Lambcolin
I respect your expertise. But your high grading? well, it is an opinion.. just like all the others.
so, what you are saying is this, if I understand it right:
it does not matter that half of the crown details are different, like the Jewells double the size of normal.
and it does not matter that the leaf distance and the actual leaves are different?
ok, if it is another die, then why are such obvious details not listed as a variety?
lots of other coins with lesser obvious differences are listed.
I know what some of you will now say... : get it listed... well, well... unfortunately I am not one of the people who can get a variety listed.
a few years back I tried to get an obvious Variety listed.... it is just like
It seems to be much more important to list all the "artificial" varieties of the NCLT which the mint created purposely (IMO) .

47P7----good points on varieties and mint errors.
Charlton only included the BLUNDER varieties of this coin in the last 3 years. You might have found some varieties ---next step to get high res. photos and more science on the differences.
Very interesting. Those leaf differences for a start.

NO, it went through my mind that coin A might possibly suspect. B-C D coins and others are all the same.

Lambcolin,
finally... someone else sees the light.... thank you

the unfortunate thing is that Coin A sold very recently on ebay. I have NO idea who bought it. the other 3 of the quartet listed are mine.
So, perhaps everyone should check theirs to find another "coin A".
High res shots of my coins are no problem.
