Quote:Have you checked it for a VAM? Unless it has a clear pickup - this one doesn't appear to - 1880-P is a  . It will make your eyes cross. Some of the differentiations (and there are a *lot* of 1880-P VAMs) are diabolical. Attributing these is sometimes used as punishment.

This coin is a bit better than AU-50. I'll say AU-53.

I asked, and was told there was a box of "Mexican" coins inside I could look through if I wished to. Turned out to be 99% modern Spanish issues with a few Saudi and Italian thrown in, and this one lone silver dollar.
