Very nice varieties. Thanks for Posting. Thanks - as always - for the explanation pginrh.
The coins look like they have good quality luster from what I can see.

Thanks everyone, and thanks pg,for pointing out the 42 was a flared 4, I was a little confused about this variety when looking at the picture in Charlton's. Also in hand the 2 only appears to have doubling on the left side.

As far a triple clash 45, this is the only one I have that may be a triple, the clashes are fairly close together, are they farther apart in the ones you are referring to ?

Your picture does illustrate a 1945 triple clash... I will look at mine to see if the triple clash that I have is the same as yours.

And I will look my 1942's to see if the doubling is evident where you say. The die crack makes for a good marker.

Your 1945 coin looks to be the same as mine, but the triple clash on mine is also evident in the section below the Lion's pennant. In fact, if you look at it there, while tilting the coin, in almost looks like it could have quadruple clash marks.

On the 1942, the latest die state is illustrated in Zoell's 5th Minor catalogue as FL443z on page 40. I have an earlier die state coin and a later die state coin than yours. You are correct in that there appears to be no doubling below the 2, and that there appears to be something on the bottom left of the 2 upright. However, I could not say that it was caused by a repunch since it does not have the usual clean outlines of a repunch, but rather it would appear that a damaged '2' punch was used when the date digit was imparted to the die with a little portion broken off to give something of an appearance of doubling. You have a keen eye.

I learn more everytime I read this forum. You folks are great for info

Now I have to check my Geo VI halves. I have several 47 curved and straight 7`s no ML`s though. Some BU from 1938 to 1950 Are there varities on those or any on 53 to 70 QE II silver to look for.

Or reference guide I could look up online. My newest Charlton is 1970 or older and none of the dealers or library here stock them. I was out of coins for 35+ years.

I have bought coins from coin shops in Victoria and Vancouver BC.

@ gary - there are many repunch/doubled date varieties in 47 straight and curved dates (there is an earlier posting of 47 straights in this forum) as well as many other years in the 40s and 50s. If you can find a copy of the 2014 charlton there is an excellent varieties section for George IV 50 cents.

Here is the best shot I could take of the 45 clash below the lion's pennant.

Also since I had the coin out, here is a nice picture of the triple clash from the kings chin and neck. Had to tilt it at an angle, so the unimportant half of the pic is out of focus.

Thanks west-canuk for the great pictures. There seem to be so many die beaks, errors etc. that you really have to have a lot of patience.

Do these effect the values? I presume it goes on the extant of the error and the how rare the coin is like the 3 leg buffalo or 55 double die.

Will try to find a newer Charleton.

gary, it will have to be the 2014 Charlton for the 50 cent variety section. Yes you are correct about the scarcity and extent of the variety affecting premium to a certain degree, but as stated in an earlier thread by pginrh ; most die cracks , clashes and date repunches do not have a premium , with the exception of 46 and 49 hoof over die cracks and a 58 dot (die chip) . The above coins were bought around trends.

That fourth clashmark is very faint but you can just see it in the above picture between the two leftmost ones just above the lions chest. Another very nice coin with unique features...
