I'll second what Carl has said and say that I like the Whitmans. Mine is a 1909 to 1995 and only maybe just over an inch thick. There is still room to add another page for 95 to present. I actually tried to add 2 more pages but just a little to tight. You could just get a blank page from Whitman or many large coin supply stores or web sites. Also, Whitman makes sheets of Gold lettering and numbers so you can add your own dates under the additional pages. If your cheap like I am and you can find an old Cent Album you can punch holes to match your Lincoln Album if none there. Then with a Dark Blue Sharpie Brand felt tip marker, cross out the dates there and add your own. With other Albums like Mercury dimes I have actually added enough pages to make each Album a 2 set Album. Same procedure with Indian Head cents, Nickels, etc. Just a light piece of heavy paper as a divider. It's amazing what you can do with Whitman Albums.

I've got one of the 8100 and it seems the last two pages repeat themselves. Seems like a lame attempt to add the 1996-S ones into the collection on the last page just to say it includes proof Cents. Another thing I don't car for is how the book tends to fold in the center when you add coins. You may not notice it now, but later it looks unsightly.

fold in the center? please explain - my album is nearly full from the 1930's forward and I don't understand your statement.

Hi all, I had been in email exchange with Candy at tradewindssupplies.com and she said that they should have the new version of the Dansco album for Lincoln Cent in stock by the end of the month. The new design will accommodate the changes in Lincoln serie (2009 - 4 reverse design). I don't know/forgot to ask about the price for those new albums. I'll let everyone know when I have more info. I just thought of letting everyone else know.

Ceaton,
Here are my email exchange with Candy at TradeWindSupplies.com :
My question: "I am looking to buy/build/create an album (Dansco 8100) for Lincoln (1909 to present, with Proof). I am kind of confused on your instruction. Since some of them are out of stock, do you know when and how can this be done? "
Candy's reply: "Dansco is almost at the point of issuing a new 8100. They temporarily suspended production of them because of the ninth page - the new page - because it was a very tight fit to get it into the existing album. Their albums were originally designed to hold eight pages. They have been working on a binder that is 1/8" wider to more easily accomodate the new page. We hope to have the new 8100 albums in our store before the end of the month, and the new page nine (which will fit in the old albums, but not really easily). As soon as they are available, I will put them online. We MIGHT even get some in today or early next week. We can never be sure with Dansco until the product is actually in the store."
My clarification question: "I know that they will have 4 Lincoln Cents per mint for 2009, which make it 8 slots just for the year - similar to 1982. Do you know if the new product will accommodate that too? Do you keep an email list/mailing list? If you do, may be I can get notify when you have new products coming in."
Her reply answer: "The new Dansco will accommodate the new cents - which is one reason they are taking so long to get it out."
I also asked for discount on purchase of $200-$300 but she said no. They do combine shipping on multiple orders w/in the day - they process their order on the daily basis - and ship w/in the day or next day, except weekend and holiday.
Any other questions..........hehehe

I'm glad I can help. I'll be sure to pass on the information.
Oh, and here's the update info that I just got from their email:
"We are so hoping it will be in tomorrow - they assured us our order will ship today (they are about 2 hours away from us). They said the 8100's will be in the shipment. If I sound slightly pessimistic, it's because we are never sure of what we will actually get until we have it in our hands. We believe that the second of the Presidential series with P,D and S (8185 - Volume II) will come in as well. The new 8100 album will retail for $36.95 and it will be offered on our site for $22.91 (38% off retail). We also hope to have the update pages (new page 9) which will work for the new cents that are going to be coming out. They will fit in the old albums - Paul has managed it - but it is a bit of a squeeze. Thank you for mentioning us to the Coin Community Forum - and posting that nice note - we truly appreciate it. Paul wasn't aware of the site (he isn't much into computers) but I showed it to him and he likes it alot. He has been interested in coins for 40 years now - used to have a coin store back in New Jersey - then he switched to supplies."

Because the coins are cut in a straight line the area between the coins gets weaker. So when you push in coins they fold in between the coins. If they offset them, the area between the coins would be stronger. IMOHO

And NO, I'm not promoting this particular seller, just sharing information. Thanks.
