Definitely not a dealer but have been buying a lot more than I should be. If I'm still interested in 25 years when I retire or if I eventually run out of room in my house, I may have to start selling them, maybe open a shop. who knows? I have very much to learn before that day comes.

Just goes to show, what a good photo of a coin can do.
The first pic and the second have a great differences.

EF-40 on the second pic at least.

Thanks guys, confirms I made a good purchase. One question though. Can a coin have no luster left and be AU just based on wear and strike? Thanks.

It's my understanding to be graded AU, there should be at least 50% of original luster left.

I've heard there should be luster for it to be AU, but I've seen many without luster being graded AU50 and higher. I would base it on wear, and so I could give AU50 to a coin without luster but enough detail

it depends on the dies age, a pl coin has no luster but is a GEM condition coin. your coin was one of the most used denominations so anything above F is a keeper in my books(although I don't collect these and own only one).
