Makes me wish it were possible to deliver a slap across TCP/IP.

The sad part is, it looks like he took care and packed it very carefully and solidly. He obviously has no numismatic clue.

Consider yourself lucky. He could have glued or taped it to a piece of raw wood or something like that.

Yea, I sent the seller a message, and they were receptive. At least there was no damage.

I know I would not be happy. I would have to dong the seller a little on the feedback.

I've gotten them where the coin is actually sticking half way out of the envelope.

yeah, it looks like he did take the time to do the right thing, but made it so much worse in the process. Hopefully the seller takes any advice you gave him/her to heart for future packages.

Oh yea, I forgot, I once bought a collection of cents in a US Mint Album. You know those heavy blue and grey albums ones with the sharp metal corners. It was packaged in a padded envelope, not bubble padded, but had the shredded insulation stuffing between the paper. Well....it arrived with a hole right through the envelope, looked like confetti was pouring out, and I could literally hear the coins jangling around inside...AND IT WAS POSTAGE DUE. How no coins fell out it was a miracle. That was the worst. This was a distant second.

One time I got a 1896 penny taped down to a piece of cardboard. Yikes.
