G'day, I was not quite a twinkle in my Dad's eye ...

and Muckeye: nice to see someone spell Ballaarat correctly. My Dad was born there, and often took me there when I was a boy.

G'day Peter,
Thanks for the comment. I'm a bit of a history buff myself.
My great grandfather was at Bakery Hill on the 3rd December and must have liked the place 'cos I was born there.
Thanks again, nice to have a compatriot.
regards,

G'day Muckeye, my great-g-grandfather (Mum's side) was at the same "blue"; and he lived to attend the 50th Anniversary Reunion. He was lauded as "The Stockade Poet", for his efforts. Died & buried at Egerton, 1914. He was originally a Seppo, so when I start seriously collecting their coins, I'll be aiming for the years of his birth & migration.
Dad's family were Creswick-Cornish-Methodist. Probably at chapel, or minding their own business on 3rd Dec.

I was in Huntsville Alabama, working with Western Electric,
installing a new automatic telephone system,as the system there
was a manual switchboard, and at that time ( redstone ) was getting started.
Huntsville had less than 6,000 population at the time.

My parents were both 6. I recollect stories about them riding dinosaurs to school.

Although, if you were in Cambridge in 1954 you could have eaten at The Tasty instead of some generic sub shop.

Hmm. Considering my parents were born in 1945, I doubt I was even a gleam in my parent's eyes as they hadn't quite hit puberty as of yet. >.> Wow.
