I see what looks to me to be a bit of a cartwheel effect, so I think PL is unlikely (especially for the reverse, and to earn a PL designation, it takes two to tango). Spot right in the middle of the eagle's breast looks to be an abrasion. If that's assessed as a bagmark, then it's hard to see how this specimen falls short of MS64, and unless these photos are deceiving, I'd have no problem with a "+" being tacked on. The bit of field chatter probably ought to keep it from making 65, but NGC nowadays seems to grade coins on a "merket" rather than a "technical" basis, so who knows on an overall beauty like this?

Thanks for the feedback so far. Here are shots in natural light...I wish they were sharper. I'll post the grade shortly:

I'd be hard pressed to say that's the same coin, that's how different the latest photography makes it look (a point that shouldn't be missed by all those using ebay). The apparent spot on the eagle's breat was obviously an optical illusion, and the cheek looks immaculate in these shots. Nevertheless, I'll stand by my prior assessment. Not likely to receive PL designation, and might make 65 but probably shouldn't.

MS64 definitely not a PL worthy coin.

Wow PL huh? I've had coins with more contrast come back from PCGS with no PL designation in the past. How recent is this slab? Photos can be tricky on PL coins, so I may be off due to that. I agree it's a solid MS64.

Even given the Carmex shots or did you not see those? I need to study up on some techniques for photographing these. This is a very recent slabbing at NGC.

Nice Morgan! I have to agree that that shooting PL and DMPL coins especially through plastic is a challenge.

Some improved artificial light shots...still tough to see the PL-ness:

Last two photos do show the cameo look better. It is tough to shoot photos through the plastic slabs, that really show off contrast.
