Slider23 makes a pertinent observation, but what I see right off is the parallel arrow feather on the reverse, which tags the Morgan as a fake, no doubt whatsoever.

Not my area of expertise, but if EFLargeCents thinks the cent is a fake, it probably is.

So I'm thinking "trick question" with both being phony.

The large letters on the Reverse of the Large Cent should have given it away, that year has small letters...Jeff

In 1840 the only possible head for all varieties was the petite head. The coin above has the 1843-1857 size head. That's just the quick way of diagnosing it from the image without having to go through die varieties.

Edit: Also the letters as kakaratt77 states above, in 1840 there was only the smaller ones.

Both of them are fake it looks like. The color doesn't look right on the copper.

I wasn't paying attention to the thread title, scrolled down to the Morgan and knew something wasn't right. The tone, the font, the eagle's face, the way everything looks blocky. It's almost as if the coin was redesigned completely.

What the heck is protruding from the top and the bottom of the coin?

The most important point regarding the Morgan is that it's the 1921-only design reverse. This should be Job One for anyone wishing to learn Morgans, to learn the reverse configurations so coins like this one are dead giveaways.

This one has been seen here before. Half a dozen times, maybe a bit more. 1895-P with the 1921 reverse. It's developing a notoriety all its' own.
