Wow.... very cool. Amazing how notes come to be in our collections, and this is a beaut, stain or not.

Someone on a coin group on facebook asked if one of these was worth keeping.
I kind of chuckled answering the question saying "Yes"...

"No, it's not worth keeping. Here, I'll dispose of it for you."

I sent an email to manifest auctions and they gave an auction estimate of $500-$1000. Like everything else in this world though it's only worth what someone will pay for it. I kind of want to go watch the security cameras and see who spent it so I can track them down to see what else they have stored away.

I just reread your first post on this....and it sort of makes me sad but I can only think of two reasons someone would spend that bill at a restuarant: it was stolen or it was a keepsake of someone who passed away and the relatives didn't know or care what it was.
Let's hope it's the latter and now it has a good home.

I try not to think about who spent it and why, but those thoughts have definitely ran through my head. It's definitely landed in a good home though. I'm trying to think of it as some good karma being returned.

I see you live just south of Buffalo, so I'm guessing this note has stayed in the area all it's life.
A note like this really stands out, so someone must have been pretty desparate to have to spend it.
Glad it didn't find it's way to a bank, where it possibly would have been taken out of circulation.

awesome now you have a complete small size set that this bank issued. This was the third note down on the sheet of 6. I point this out to simply share some knowledge. 1st: A001518A 2nd: B001518A 3rd: C001518A 4th: D001518A 5th: E001518A 6th: F001518A Edit: I had no idea what the $20 would grade as however it looks great in the holder. -MV

Small size notes complete, now on to the large size ones. From the census it looks like getting a $10 note shouldn't be to difficult. The $20 on the other hand may take a minute or some cash to obtain.
I was happy with the grade on the original note. I'll send the $10 in soon. It for sure won't make the 20 grade probably 8 to 10 area.
