I think the coin technically would grade AU53. The haze may clear off after a soak but the spot in the reverse middle could result in a deeper corrosion that would result in an AU details grade. Do I spy a die break under the date?

Maybe Thad will chime in, but I am thinking acetone, maybe xylene, then a soak in VerdiCare.
Yes, there is a die crack from the date to the rim, a well used pair of dies on this one. It has "character"

AU-50 - AU-53 reverse might be treated with verdicare.

I made a gif to display it better........... I don't know how to make it small enough to put here.
Really nice difference. The coin looks beyond better.

Funny thing about lighting, the coin isn't really that much darker, the after pictures are closer to actual color than the before pics were. but the corrosion is stopped!

Great conservation! The coin looked to have a thin, white verdigris film over it....VC took care of that and it may have effected your lighting.

That is definitely some good advertisement and I will definitely be getting some! Question...I'm sure it doesn't but has anyone sent any coins into a TPG and have it come back 'cleaned'? It's probably undetectable from what I read in the ad last night but I'm just curious thanks
