Thanks for the replies. Keep em coming. I thought it looked like a problem free coin. That's saying a lot for this date. Very few examples of a problem free coin in any grade for 1811. I hope it looks as good or better in hand when I get it. My LCSs haven't been able to come up with one in years. I hate buying on ebay but I felt I was forced to if I wanted one of these. Anyone know the variety?

Lovely coin At least VG08, possibly VG10. If I'm not mistaken there is only one choice, S-287.

A nice coin which I grade VG8. The obverse appears to be smooth and devoid of any problems. The reverse is more difficult for me to judge, at least from the picture. It appears to show some micro porosity or roughness, but it could just be the picture. All in all I think it would yield at least a net VG7, and a worthy example of a date which more often than not is just awful in appearance.

Yes, I realized there was only one choice for 1811 (other than the overdate) right after I posted this. Thanks!

I think there is too much wear for a VG-10...

VG-8.

I agree with the VG-8 grade and that's what I will assign it. I will try to post pics when I get it in hand. The sellers pics will likely be better than mine though since I'm shooting with a phone.

Well, she arrived today and I'm still pleased and there were no surprises with this one. Nice chocolate color. Planchet is decent and it does look problem free to me. These pics were taken in the setting sunlight and depicts the coin pretty well. I just wish the photo quality was better.

I m glad the coin has problem-free surfaces, and nice toning as well.
Very nice example!
