AU Dets. Might been lightly polished. How much did you pay?

Quote:
Cleaned (my guess is dipped.) Same color across entire coin reverse and obverse, no toning at all even in the smallest crevices.

Also at AU-50, cleaned. I'd be happy to do a lot of garage sales if I could find one of these for a good price.

Yes, I concur it seems a bit too much of a "blazer" but it was part of the remnants of a collection that was part of an estate, and certainly none of the other coins had been obviously cleaned, and many of them were certainly candidates, so while that proves nothing, I don't think it was this particular collector's practice to do so. I will say that if cleaned, it was certainly dipped, I see no evidence whatsoever of wiping. In MS, dipped coins often pass through without getting tagged with a "details" annotation, but a specimen with some obvious high point wear such as this may not receive that benefit of the doubt.

$10 as part of a lot that included nine Morgan/Peace dollars (all common and circulated), and a few dozen foreign silver coins.
