The cheek looks a little baggy, I am going with MS63 because of the strong luster, nice reverse and solid strike.

in my opinion its a solid 62, the reverse is a very strong strike, however, the obverse is a tad baggy... overall, still a stunner.

MS-63 was my first guess. Nice looking CC.

For me the obverse is too baggy for 63. My grade MS62

I will go MS 62. I like those die cracks, but that ding on the reverse is a bummer

thanks for the input. I was hoping my relative wasn't getting ripped on Morgan dollars. Unc-60 and proof-63 were the highest designations the particular company used for all coins. there are quite a few unc-60 receipts but I'm trying to narrow the grade within one or two points. ie the 1881cc morgan I posted was unc-60 from the company. the family member wrote prices he paid on some coins. he paid right around 400 for this cc which looks like a decent deal. any thoughts or comments? should I have it professionally graded?

In today's market, $400.00 is a very good price. Could probably make 15%-20% on it.

Yes! I would have it graded personally. But I also would have them put it in the slab with the reverse facing out.
From your assessment of the company I'm thinking it was Littelton? Right

Littleton would be correct. most coins were purchased at least 15-20 years ago, and during that time I'm guessing the market has changed somewhat (inflation at least)
