I'd say MS-62 for this one.

62, it would need booming luster to hit 63 with that cheek. It looks like a typical GSA S$1 which is not bad because they can be really beat up.

Nice pickup, I love thsee GSA dollars. I'm thinking about bidding on some unopened GSA dollars on ebay. I'm sure they would be the common dates but imagine getting a rare date...that would be nuts!!

@TMCD75, just so you know, they are not unopened. They have been repackaged. You will get average common dates, but please don't think they are the real deal.

The real unopened ones look like this:

I think it could make MS-63.

MS62. Too much action on the cheek/face and not enough luster for 63 given those limitations.

MS62 for me too, the reverse is certainly the strong side, but the TPGs will give much more weight to the obverse when grading.

I think you may have a VAM4B. Check for the die crack through AMERI that continues through the wing to the letter F. I think I can make out the die break on the top serif of the letter E as well.

4B would be nice, think that's an R6. I'll check as soon as it gets here this week.

Got the coin in hand today. Solid 63 obverse, 64 reverse, and a confirmed VAM-4B ! Cracked completely from F, through wing, through AMERI, and with a nice die chip below the A in AMERI, die break at E. Other than the cheek chatter it would make a 64 all day long, but I think 63 is appropriate. Being a VAM-4B just makes it even more fun. Not planning on sending it for certification, not enough value to do that, but it looks good on the shelf with all my proof sets and brown box ikes :)
