Quote: I went with 2 blank silver dollar Danscos. That way I could make the set anyway I wanted. I have to ask, what way different did you want your albums?

I wanted to have all of the Unc coins only. 1983 & 84 had 3 Unc coins each year. I believe the type album only had a hole for 1 coin and the complete album includes proofs which I didn't want to include.

I can understand that.
Do you like how your custom album turned out?

I do. I might have to label the holes. I'm not 100% sure how I want to label them. Still have 12 holes to fill.

Do you have the Baseball Hall of Fame? If so ... what did you do with it? Just thinking it wont fit into the Dansco

Shot them an email to find out. I have been looking for years for an album that will hold the capsules. Like HONDO said, the protection of the capsule is hard to beat. MeadowviewCollector; Thanks for posting this link.

I am really interested in the CAPS album, but the capsules are something I would like to know more about. Big thing, did you have to use their capsules? As for the OGP, there are a few that are different. The 83 and 84 capsules are smaller. Of course the Baseball Hall of Fame, may not fit in any of the albums. After sleeping on it, I am still leaning toward the Dansco albums. I need to make a new count, but I am sure I have our 60 Dansc's...... I think having them all the same ... Makes a better looking collection. But that is just me ....,

I have been thinking of doing the same thing. The Dansco would be the album of choice for me. I , however, am only going to(have been) collect the UNC. Proofs have no appeal to me.
In addition, IMHO (no offense to any) I could think of nothing less attractive than collecting an album full of capsules. Might as well go with an album of slabs. I only have 5 Dansco's, but am thinking of starting this one and transferring my Jefferson set from it's Whitman to a Dansco.

Per Bob @ Valley Coin, the Mint's capsules WILL NOT fit in the CAPS albums. They were designed to fit the Air-Tite brand capsules.

mfhorn Thanks for getting that information. At least the Air-tites are easy to find/purchase.
I know I am going to try one of these CAPS album, sometime in the future. Just not sure it will be for this set. (commemorative dollars)
I have been thinking that I will someday break my collection down into two groups. A core group I will keep and pass down, the other group coins/sets I will someday sell.
My core group I want to be all Dansco albums. I think a complete set of Commemorative dollars will be in my core group.

I got one of these albums for Christmas, unfortunately I had not seen a post noting that the capsules all my coins are in do not fit in the album. Have to purchase their plastic to utalize the album with a total cost pushing $80. Unimpressed

Ouch ...
Having to purchase a specific air-tite may hurt the sales of those albums.
