Unfortunately its happen very often.
Google Archaeological looting in Romania-Koson gold coin.
In 2011,a few coins were recuperated from a action house in Dublin. These Koson coins are on International watch.
All of them are stolen and illegal for sale!

Hi, I'll be the devil's advocate here to be fair. Does this mean that 100% of these coins are specifically from this UNESCO sight... that none of them were already or could be in the marketplace other than a recent heist? Essentially, saying these coins were unknown to the world until recently excavated and ONLY could be on the market via illegal means? That in the course of world history, none of these were traded elsewhere millenia ago via normal trade and are now coming up on the market through very legal means?

On the right hand side of the ebay item listing page, about midway down, you will see two words --- "Report Item".

Clicking on "Report Item" will give you the opportunity to report your concerns to ebay. Whether they take action depends on what they find out during their "investigation". Due to privacy concerns they will not communicate with you the actions they may take against a Seller. If the item is removed from the listing, or the Seller becomes NARU'd, it will at least tell you they did something.

Good luck.

Yes,indeed.Until the looters excavated these coins, there were no Koson on the market.Actually nobody knows about this coin, that ever existed.
Koson is the name of a Dacian king,he may be identical to the Cotison mentioned by Horace and Suetonius.
From 2000 till now there are tens of looting cases involved Gold Dacian Koson.
Interpol find a lot of them in action houses in USA,Irland,Italy...etc
Actually there is no legit Gold Koson on the market,as the land is Government's and as such all artifacts are displayed only in museums.Romanian Government or Museums NEVER sold historical artifacts.
Just looters sold Gold Koson Coin.
So,any Gold Koson Coin listed for sale is Illegally and Looted !
I hope you understand.

Thanks so much!

It's like an Ancients version of the 1933 Double Eagle. 82 years later, and the gov't is still chasing foreign dignitaries and little old ladies!

Contact information for the Romanian Embassy in italy

ADDRESS Via Nicolo Tartaglia 36 (Parioli)
00197 Roma (Rome)
Italy
PHONE LOCAL: (06) 808.4529
INTERNATIONAL: +39.06.808.4529
FAX LOCAL: (06) 808.4995
INTERNATIONAL: +39.06.808.4995
EMAIL amdiroma@roembit.org
WEB SITE http://roma.mae.ro/

Contact them, explain what is going on, and give them contact information for ebay. Romania is usually fairly proactive about archaeological site looting and ebay may be cooperative about helping if government pressure is brought to bear on them.

Update:
I went on ebay and report ALL the Koson Coin sellers.
Is clean now.
No gold Dacian Koson for sale,at least not on ebay.
Well...with one exception..a big Italian dealer.
The very one I first reported about.
Also he had the higher price,$2650.
What I did? I BIN.
Went back to cancel it,on the reason that it is a stolen item, but guess what?It said the item is already shipped, and show me even the tracking #.
But I do not paid for this transaction.
Now after I cooled down,I should not do this.
What do you think?Did he really shipped the coin without being paid?
In my opinion I dont't think so,he seems to be a big,fat fish on the black market.
His ebay user name is gcname, and his feedback is 96,9%.
We'll see.

Some dealers HAVE sent out items without receiving payment first. It does.happen but who knows if it happened here or if hrs just trying to get an ethical buyer to hurry up and pay for it. Did ypu take conder advise about contacting the embassy? All your doing with ebay is taking the item down from sale not going after the guys. The embassy might get IP addresses from ebay and actually go find these guys and recover their heritage

Cascade, the embassy is doing nothing. They are a bunch of lazy, corrupt so called diplomats.
As for the seller he cancelled the transaction,he was lying of course,he don't sent the item.
He wanted to push me to pay.
